For a smooth functioning of the NPO we have created study groups as governed by statutes.
The study group Research is the first study group established in the NPO.
The study group Research was established with the aim of further research and improve used materials, applied concepts and techniques.
The tasks include the following:
- Research into the performance of built eartships by doing measurements;
- Research into used materials and friendly alternatives in accordance with the objectives of the NPO;
- Research into the concepts used and feasibility and necessary changes in our climate;
- Research on techniques and friendly alternatives in accordance with the objectives of the NPO;
- Investigation and improvement of biodiversity in the vicinity of a earthship;
- Research on natural and cultural landscape restoration in conjunction with inhabited earthships;
- Research into applicable natural and environmentally friendly ways of food production;
- Investigation of applicable equipment for measurement and buy these;
- Tracking data from completed projects;
- Making technical publications in collaboration with the group media publications and the construction experts group;
- Development of project proposals.
The study group Research is looking for some financial aid for the purchase of a performance measurement system to measure and further investigate the to be build earthship Earthresidence.

People with know how on permaculture
The study group Research is looking for individuals with knowledge of permaculture. The idea is to think about the layout of the site around a earthship with edible and non edible plants in a manner that ensures biodiversity and contributes to a self sustainable life. You also do research on the organization of greywater systems with edible and non edible plants in the spirit of permaculture. Discussion occurs through email and skype with the coordinator of the study group.
