October 15, 2010 - The annual event takes place in the Ecodroom, Rivierenhof near Antwerp. This time we were, enjoying a beautiful autumn weather, sunny and warm, which naturally attracts hundreds of visitors.
In the long alley to the castle serveral expositons where set up with a diverse range, including a stall with edible insects! Raw, boiled or fried as chips!

There was a lot of interest for self-sufficient living in earthships

Our Earthship concept should not be missed. Lydia, David, Daniel and Flory manned the stall together or took turns explaining earthships to the interested. And there were many. More and more people seem to embrace the idea of an autonomous residence as a natural need and therefore a natural right. People are even willing to invest their time to warm up the government for a different approach.

Some became members on the spot, others joined in as a volunteer, and meanwhile a lot of ideas and thoughts were discussed. People interested in alternative environmental initiatives, such as permaculture, offered themselves as voluntary employee.
Make sure you're there next time!
